The TBM "Sfânta Maria" has reached the future Expoziției metro station, part of Line 6, according to Metrorex. This marks the fourth tunnel segment excavated by the TBM on Line 2 of the South Section, between the future Tokyo station and 1 Mai station. So far, it has excavated 3.67 km of the total 6.6 km tunnel to 1 Mai and installed 2,445 rings. Meanwhile, TBM "Sfânta Ana" is 855 meters away from the same station. Metrorex emphasizes that each step taken brings them closer to alleviating traffic congestion in Bucharest. The M6 line will span 14.2 km with 12 new modern trains and 12 stations. The South Section is being constructed by the Alsim Alarko – Makyol consortium, while the North Section is contracted to Gulermak – Somet.
