The Neptun Deep project in Romania is set to deliver its first natural gas by mid-2027, according to OMV Petrom and Romgaz. Significant progress has been made with the installation of the Neptun Alpha platform and ongoing work on offshore infrastructure. The project aims to achieve a plateau production level of 140 kbep/day, with an estimated recoverable volume of around 100 billion cubic meters. The final investment decision was made in June 2023, with development costs projected at 4 billion EUR. Neptun Deep is expected to have a lower carbon footprint compared to industry averages.
