The Island of Lake Morii officially opened to the public, featuring new attractions and extensive greenery. The project, initiated by the Sector 6 local government, includes 500 new trees and floating islands on the lake. The opening is celebrated with a three-day festival offering various activities for all ages. Access is encouraged by foot or bicycle, with limited car access. The project aims to enhance biodiversity and provide green infrastructure, funded partly by European grants. The official inauguration will take place in the presence of the interim mayor, Paul Moldovan, with a concert by the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra.
