Construction on the most challenging section of the A1 Sibiu–Pitești highway is progressing, with the launch of a 3,600-ton metal deck at Viaduct 23. This significant engineering task involves maneuvering a massive structure at a height of approximately 13 meters. The viaduct spans 420 meters and consists of six openings of 70 meters each. The deck launch occurs in two phases for each direction, requiring precise coordination and control. Ongoing work on the Cornetu–Tigveni section is vital for completing the entire A1 corridor through the Carpathians.
