Cristian Pistol, director of CNAIR, announced the launch of the metal deck on the highest viaduct of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești highway project. The construction is located on Section 2 (Boița - Cornetu) and utilizes special technology for assembly. The metal deck weighs around 4,000 tons and is made of Corten steel, requiring less maintenance. Currently, 627 workers and 156 machines are mobilized on-site, focusing on multiple sectors, including tunnels and viaducts. The project, valued at 4.25 billion lei, aims to connect Muntenia and Transylvania, being the first high-speed road through the Carpathians.
