The Romanian construction group UMB has installed 50% of the stay cables for the bridge over the Siret River, part of the Braila-Galati Expressway project. The bridge spans 1.79 km and is included in the contract for the 10.76 km expressway. Physical progress on the site has reached 97%, with completion expected in 2026. The contract, valued at 449.42 million lei, is funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027. This expressway will connect the major Danube cities and enhance economic development in the southeastern and northeastern regions of Romania.
