An archaeological dig in Alba Iulia has uncovered a fragment of a statue representing Aesculapius, the Roman god of medicine. This find is part of the Colonia Aurelia Apulensis site, indicating a personal or familial devotion to the deity. The discovery suggests the room where it was found may have been a domestic space, reflecting the spiritual practices of the time, including healing rituals associated with Aesculapius. Doctoral student Ioan Muntean highlighted the significance of this find in understanding Roman beliefs and domestic spirituality.
