VIDEO Cum arată „inima” de 100 tone a unei turbine de la Hidrocentrala Porțile de Fier I? Refăcută la Reșița • Newsweek România

The heart of the turbine at the Iron Gates I Hydroelectric Power Plant, weighing nearly 100 tons, has been refurbished at UCMH Reșița. This massive steel component is crucial for the turbine's operation, which will weigh over 300 tons once fully assembled. The refurbishment involved meticulous work, including disassembly, cleaning, and testing of vital components to ensure optimal performance. The project highlights UCMH Reșița's industrial capabilities, especially as original turbines were also manufactured there in the 1970s. The Iron Gates I, alongside its Serbian counterpart, is the largest hydroelectric facility on the Danube, with a total installed capacity of up to 2,235 MW.
