Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of Bucharest, addressed the slow progress of the Herăstrău Lake stabilization project, which initially involved significant tree removal and visible concrete work. He requested a redesign to preserve the area's natural look, opting for a solution that would bury necessary support beams under fertile soil for planting. An assessment of 1,844 trees revealed varying health statuses, with plans to resume work after a 2-3 month delay. Ciucu emphasized the importance of maintaining the lake's aesthetic and avoiding an industrial appearance.
