The first section of the Cluj-Florești Metropolitan Beltway has been completed, costing 23 million euros. This project widened DN1 from four to six lanes and added dedicated lanes for public transport and ambulances, bike paths, and pedestrian crossings. Mayor Emil Boc highlighted the route's significance for commuters, noting that travel time for buses could decrease significantly. However, the dedicated lane ends at Calvaria Bridge, potentially leading to delays in the city. The project was executed by Viarom-Electro Grup and included additional funding for expanding DN1.
