Researchers tested AI agents like ChatGPT and Grok in driving a Toyota Corolla, revealing significant limitations in their driving capabilities. The study involved a simple course with cones, where AI had full control over the vehicle. Out of 11 attempts with four agents, eight failed to navigate more than 11% of the course, often resulting in accidents at the first curve. Issues included misinterpretation of instructions and inability to judge turning angles. Only GPT-6 Astra successfully completed the course, but only on its second attempt, highlighting the challenges AI faces in real-world driving scenarios.
