The rehabilitation project of the Brașov – Sighișoara railway section is 61% complete, according to CFR. This investment is part of the Brașov – Simeria line upgrade, enabling train speeds of up to 160 km/h. The project covers approximately 112 km of railway, including various structures and modern systems for traffic management. Key works include the Ormeniș and Homorod tunnels, with significant progress in excavation. The total contract value is 3.75 billion lei, with work starting in April 2020. Arcada Company is involved in the RailWorks association for the Apața – Cața section, valued at 3.36 billion lei, which began in November 2020. The project aims to enhance infrastructure compatibility with European standards.
