After 22 years of delays and disputes, the Chiribiș-Biharia section of the Transylvania Highway may open in December, ahead of schedule. The same construction group that previously had its contract terminated is now completing the project. Significant progress has been made, with most structures nearly finished and the asphalt laid down. The project has faced numerous challenges since its inception in 2004, including multiple contractors and contract terminations. The new contractor, Precon Transilvania, is also part of the same group that previously failed to deliver. If all goes well, this section will enhance connectivity along the highway, potentially allowing uninterrupted travel from the Hungarian border to Nușfalău by December.
