VIDEO | Autostrada Sibiu – Pitești: Primul tunel de autostradă din România este aproape finalizat

The Momaia / Curtea de Argeș tunnel on the Sibiu – Pitești highway is nearing completion, with essential features like lighting and ventilation in place. This 9.86 km tunnel, built using the New Austrian Tunneling Method, is part of section 4 of the highway. The project, contracted to Porr Construct SRL, is expected to open ahead of schedule, with safety tests pending. Traffic regulations emphasize speed limits and prohibit stopping for photos inside the tunnel. Once operational, this section will allow travel on 54 km of the total 122 km of the highway, enhancing connectivity in the region.
