The construction of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway section between Tigveni and Curtea de Argeș is nearly complete, reaching 99% progress. The opening of traffic is contingent on the completion of safety tests in the Momaia tunnel. This section, spanning 9.86 kilometers, is built by the Austrian contractor PORR and is expected to open in 2026, ahead of the contractual deadline. All roadworks, including asphalt laying on bridges and viaducts, are finished. The Momaia tunnel, equipped with advanced monitoring systems, is undergoing final tests. Once opened, approximately 54 kilometers of the highway will be accessible to drivers.
