The first tunnel gallery of Boița 1 on the Sibiu-Pitești highway has been completed, with construction progress at 30%. Other tunnels are also under construction, but work is hindered by missing environmental permits. The completion of the environmental agreement is expected this summer, which would allow for full authorization of the section. The project includes seven tunnels and is part of the first highway in Romania crossing the Carpathians, funded through the Transport Program.
