Construction progress on the first lot of the Bacău – Pașcani Highway (A7) is nearing 70%, according to Cristian Pistol, head of CNAIR. The completion by year-end hinges on securing funding. The Romanian contractor UMB has mobilized 500 workers and 350 machines for the 30.3 km stretch between Săucești and Trifești. Current tasks include road structure, bridges, service areas, ITS systems, protective barriers, and road markings. Funding through PNRR is available until August 31, 2026, but remaining work requires state budget allocation. Pistol emphasized that completion depends on funding and weather conditions. At least 50 km of the A7 is expected to open this year, with a significant workforce mobilized by the contractor.
