Romania is set to construct a section of the Transylvania Highway that can also serve as an emergency landing strip for aircraft. This 3-kilometer segment, part of the Chiribiș-Biharia lot, is funded by European Union resources and is expected to be completed by May 2027. The project is being executed by a consortium and aims to enhance infrastructure while ensuring high-quality standards. Current progress shows 65% completion, with the possibility of opening ahead of schedule by the end of the year, which would significantly improve connectivity in the region.
