Cristian Pistol, the general director of CNAIR, showcased the Monitoring Center for the A1 Sibiu-Pitești Highway, which will oversee traffic continuously. The center, located in Curtea de Argeș, is testing SCADA systems for traffic management, particularly in the Momaia tunnel, equipped with over 2,500 monitoring points. Final tests with ISU and CNAIR representatives are scheduled for late November, focusing on safety simulations. The highway section is set to open this year, ahead of the 2027 deadline, allowing traffic on 54 km of the total 122 km of the highway. The project costs 1.678 billion lei, funded through the 2021-2027 Transport Program.
