The Boița 1 tunnel on the A1 Sibiu-Pitești highway has been successfully pierced, marking progress in the construction of seven tunnels by the Turkish contractor Mapa-Cengiz. The physical progress of the Boița 1 tunnel is approximately 30%, while work continues on two other tunnels, Balota and Robești. Overall, the construction site is at about 13% completion, hindered by the lack of environmental permits. The project, valued at 4.25 billion lei, is expected to finalize environmental procedures by summer.
