The first modern K9 self-propelled howitzers have arrived in Romania, along with support vehicles. They will be integrated into the 4th Infantry Division "Gemina" after inspections. This acquisition is part of a larger $970 million contract with Hanwha Aerospace, which includes 54 K9 systems, with the first 18 manufactured in South Korea and the rest in Romania. The K9 howitzer is a widely used artillery system, with over 2,400 units built globally. The contract also covers additional equipment and munitions, enhancing Romania's military capabilities.
