The National Park is undergoing significant renovations, particularly around the lake, with the installation of synthetic sheet piles to stabilize the banks. Mayor Rareș Hopincă announced the project, which aims to replace deteriorating concrete slabs. The area around the lake will remain closed during the works, while other parts of the park will gradually reopen. The rehabilitation project, costing approximately 61.6 million lei, is primarily funded by European grants and has been delayed for nearly two years. Hopincă emphasizes the importance of thorough work over speed, aiming for a well-restored park.
