The U.S. Army is testing a new tactical vehicle called SkyRunner, which can transform into an aircraft, allowing for rapid incursions and exfiltration. This vehicle can travel off-road and take off without a runway, with a flight range of nearly 200 kilometers. During the recent Scarlet Dragon 26-3 exercise at Fort Bragg, soldiers evaluated its capabilities in challenging terrain. The SkyRunner can carry two people and requires about 137 meters for takeoff, reaching altitudes of up to 3,048 meters. It is designed for reconnaissance, resupply, and medical evacuation missions in areas without established roads. The Army has not confirmed plans to purchase the SkyRunner yet.
