Victor Ponta, propus pentru funcția de premier de grupul UPR: L-am văzut pe președinte foarte aplecat asupra acestui profil
Victor Ponta has been proposed by the Uniți pentru România group to lead the Romanian government, with optimism expressed by the group leader regarding the president's interest in Ponta's profile. Răzvan Chiriță, the group leader, emphasized their aim to help resolve the current political and economic deadlock. During consultations at Cotroceni, only two candidates were mentioned: Sorin Grindeanu from PSD and Ponta from UPR. Chiriță noted that while the president did not make a direct decision, his reactions suggested a preference for a candidate similar to Ponta. The consultations follow five months of political stalemate after the dismissal of Ilie Bolojan's government, with two previous proposals rejected by Parliament. The possibility of early elections remains uncertain, depending on the president's stance.
