Viața ascunsă în borcane de sticlă. Povestea tinerei poloneze care a salvat mii de copii de la moarte
Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker, saved over 2,500 Jewish children during the Nazi occupation by risking her life to smuggle them out of ghettos. She used false documents to enter ghettos, providing food and medicine while organizing escapes through sewers and tunnels. Many children were hidden in suitcases or crates to avoid detection. Sendler's efforts were part of the Żegota organization, which aimed to protect Jews. Despite facing severe risks, including a death sentence, she persevered, ultimately becoming a symbol of humanitarian courage. In 2003, she was awarded Poland's highest honor for her bravery.
