The Romanian Ministry of Finance has extended the 25% reduction in diesel excise duty until October 31, 2026, to mitigate fuel price increases. This reduction translates to approximately 70 bani per liter, or 85 bani when including VAT. The decision is based on recent evaluations of international fuel prices and aims to alleviate the financial burden on consumers and businesses, particularly in transportation and logistics. For a full tank of 50 liters, the savings could reach around 42.41 lei. The excise duty will remain at 2,103.22 lei per 1,000 liters during this period, reflecting a significant decrease from the standard rate.
