Companies now have an additional 18 months to update their CAEN codes, as the government extended the deadline to March 25, 2027. Only about one-third of firms have completed this process so far. The decision was made following requests from the business sector, highlighting the challenges faced by many companies in adapting to the new CAEN Rev. 3 classification. The interim Minister of Economy emphasized the importance of this extension to prevent disruptions in business operations. The parallel use of CAEN Rev. 2 and Rev. 3 codes will be allowed until the new deadline, encouraging firms to complete their updates promptly to avoid administrative bottlenecks.
