The Romanian government plans to double financial support for farmers affected by rising fertilizer prices, proposing an increase of 29.97 million euros. This support will be available to eligible agricultural producers based on land areas determined by APIA for payments in 2026. The total proposed aid reaches approximately 59.95 million euros, aimed at mitigating the impact of production cost increases due to the Middle East crisis. Farmers must provide proof of fertilizer purchases to qualify, and applications can be submitted to APIA within 15 working days after the regulation takes effect. Payments will be made after eligibility checks, no later than February 28, 2027.
