Seventeen individuals exhibited symptoms of food poisoning after an event in Avrig, leading to their evaluation at the Sibiu Emergency Hospital. None required hospitalization and were discharged with medical advice. The incident prompted a large-scale medical response, activating the Red Intervention Plan. Approximately 30 people sought medical assistance, with 20 transported to the hospital. The veterinary authority began inspections at the food service unit, uncovering hygiene violations and other issues, resulting in a temporary suspension and a fine. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the suspected collective food poisoning.
