Vești bune pentru românii care au lucrat în SUA: Anii munciți peste Ocean se adaugă la pensie din 1 septembrie

Starting September 1, Romanians who have worked in both Romania and the USA can benefit from a social security agreement that allows the totalization of insurance periods for pension rights. This agreement, signed in March 2023, facilitates collaboration between the two countries' institutions regarding pensions and death benefits. It allows consideration of insurance periods from the other country if a person does not meet the requirements based solely on their domestic periods. Each country calculates benefits according to its own rules, and applications will be processed through designated liaison bodies. Temporary workers sent to the other country for up to five years may remain under their home country's social security system.
