The Romanian Ministry of Finance announced a 25% reduction in excise duty on diesel fuel, effective from October 16 to 31, 2026. This temporary measure aims to alleviate the economic impact of rising fuel prices, particularly in transportation and logistics. The excise reduction translates to a decrease of 701.07 lei per 1,000 liters of diesel. The decision follows a bi-weekly market assessment, considering both international prices and local pump rates. The excise duty will remain at 2,103.22 lei per 1,000 liters until the end of October 2026, as authorities continue to monitor market conditions.
