Players from the 2026 World Cup generated over $3.3 billion in international transfer fees during the summer transfer window, according to a FIFA report. More than 260 players from 47 nationalities changed clubs, accounting for over a third of the record $9.89 billion spent on international transfers in men's football. English clubs led the spending with over $3.02 billion, followed by Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. In women's professional football, a record 1,406 international transfers were recorded, with fees reaching $28.6 million, more than double the previous year. English clubs also topped the spending in women's football, while Swedish clubs received the highest transfer fees.
