Vechiul buletin dispare treptat. Ce se schimbă pentru români odată cu extinderea cărții electronice de identitate

Romania is accelerating the transition to the new electronic identity card (CEI) as the issuance system expands nationwide. The old identity card model from 1997 remains valid until its expiration, but will only be issued in special cases. Starting August 3, 2031, the 1997 model will no longer be accepted for travel within the EU and Schengen Area. The new CEI, which includes an electronic chip, allows for digital services and can be used for travel in EU countries and others that recognize it. It can also be requested for children under 14, with the first card being free for those aged 14 and above. This initiative is part of the modernization of public services in Romania.
