As more individuals from the 'decreței' generation retire, the ratio of workers to pensioners will worsen. Currently, the standard retirement age is 65 for men and 63 for women, while many European countries have set it at 67. Experts suggest that the average pension, currently over 40% of the last salary, could drop to 30%. The demographic decline in Romania, with more deaths than births for over three decades, exacerbates the issue. Recommendations include increasing labor market participation and gradually adjusting the retirement age based on life expectancy.
