The modernization and electrification of the Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Episcopia Bihor railway is progressing, with significant milestones expected by August 31. State Secretary Horațiu Cosma reported that work is ongoing across all four lots, with varying completion percentages. He emphasized the urgency to meet PNRR targets and expressed optimism about securing over 2 billion euros for the project. While some sections may reopen by 2027, the entire project is set for completion by 2028, allowing trains to run at speeds up to 160 km/h. Despite delays, particularly on the Poieni - Aleșd lot, authorities are committed to maintaining momentum.
