Danish toy manufacturer Lego A/S reported a 21% increase in sales in the first half of the year, driven by World Cup and Formula 1 themed sets. Lego gained market share, outperforming competitors like Mattel and Hasbro, thanks to collaborations with film franchises and a diverse product range. Revenues reached 41.9 billion Danish crowns, with a net profit increase of 32%. The company launched over 330 new sets, including a FIFA World Cup trophy replica. Despite rising plastic costs due to oil price increases, Lego is transitioning to renewable materials and building a factory in Virginia to enhance production efficiency.
