In July, new energy vehicles (NEVs) accounted for over 60% of China's monthly car deliveries for the first time, with cumulative share exceeding 50% in the first seven months of 2026. NEV production and sales reached 1.57 million and 1.56 million units respectively, marking annual growth of 26.8% and 23.7%. Electric vehicle production surpassed one million units, reflecting a 30% increase from July 2025. Overall auto production and sales in July were 2.57 million and 2.58 million units, showing a decline attributed to seasonal factors. China's vehicle exports exceeded 1.04 million units, with NEVs making up over half of this total, and exports for the first seven months reached 6.14 million units, a 66.8% increase. High oil prices have boosted global NEV demand, with a target to increase NEV share to 30% by 2030.
