Electric vehicle registrations in Europe surged by 54.2% in August, with BEVs accounting for nearly one-third of new sales. A total of 202,833 BEVs were registered across 16 key markets, marking a 30.5% market share. Year-to-date, over 1.67 million BEVs have been registered, reflecting a 33.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. France and Germany reported significant market shares of 38.3% and 32.5%, respectively. Norway leads with a remarkable 98.7% BEV share. The overall new car registrations decreased by 10.12% compared to last year, with BEVs representing 8.15% of the market, a 50% increase from the previous year.
