Recent data shows that Bistrița-Năsăud, Satu Mare, Cluj, and Alba have experienced the most notable increases in heatwave days since 1961. The average summer temperatures have risen, with 2024 marking the hottest summer in 125 years. Climate researcher Monica Ioniță-Scholz emphasizes that these changes reflect broader climate shifts, impacting health, agriculture, and energy consumption.
