Vaccinurile viitorului nu vor mai avea nevoie de frigider: primele teste au avut succes
A revolutionary vaccine inspired by a drought-resistant plant has been successfully tested on 60 volunteers in the UK. This new version does not require refrigeration, addressing significant waste issues with traditional vaccines. The method utilizes trehalose, a sugar that stabilizes cells during drought, to protect the vaccine's vital components. Initial results show it elicits immune responses comparable to conventional vaccines and is safe for use. A larger study with 160 participants is planned, aiming to meet WHO goals for temperature-resistant vaccines, potentially improving global vaccination efforts.
