Vaccin personalizat împotriva cancerului ovarian. Un studiu clinic arată că sistemul imunitar poate recunoaște ținte specifice tumorii
Researchers are testing a new immunotherapy strategy for ovarian cancer using a vaccine tailored to each patient's tumor profile. A phase I clinical study published in Nature Medicine showed that this approach can trigger specific immune responses, but further research is needed to confirm its effectiveness. The study involved a personalized vaccine called NeoVax, designed based on neoantigens from mutated cancer cells. Ten patients participated, with eight showing immune responses to the vaccine. While no safety concerns were reported, the time required to produce personalized vaccines poses a challenge. The study primarily assessed safety and feasibility, and further studies are needed to evaluate long-term benefits.
