The Feldioara Uranium Processing Plant is undergoing reorganization, starting with the demolition of ten unused buildings to prepare for future developments, including a new uranium processing facility. The estimated investment for the demolition is 1.35 million lei, scheduled for 2027. This project aims to clear the site for future activities, as the current structures are in a state of disrepair. Nuclearelectrica plans to expand the industrial platform, processing locally sourced uranium from Neamț County, thus reducing reliance on imports. The plant has a significant history in Romania's nuclear industry, previously processing uranium concentrates for nuclear fuel.
