USR Deputy Alexandru Dimitriu criticized PSD for attempting to control political parties through a proposed law by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). He argues that the new legislation would transfer the power of party registration from the courts to AEP, which is led by a former PSD leader. Dimitriu warns that this could lead to the rejection of political alliances, such as a potential PNL-USR coalition, and that delays in paperwork could result in party dissolution. He claims this gives PSD undue influence over the political landscape in Romania.
