Ursula von der Leyen thanked Romanian firefighters for their role in combating wildfires in France, highlighting European solidarity. Romania extended its participation for two more weeks at France's request. The third Romanian contingent, consisting of 40 firefighters, is set to join the mission in Var, working alongside teams from other EU countries. This summer, over 770 firefighters from 14 European nations are positioned in high-risk areas across several countries, supported by the rescEU fleet.
