Ursula von der Leyen condemned drone attacks on merchant ships in the Black Sea, calling it a new escalation in the Ukraine war. She emphasized the danger to crew lives and security in the region, expressing solidarity with Bulgaria. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that two more ships were hit and plans to summon the Russian ambassador. Last week, two other vessels were also attacked, resulting in one sinking and ten crew members missing.
