The European Commission is set to propose the "Kids Act" to restrict social media access for children under 13 in the EU. Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the dangers of social media for children, emphasizing the need for action. The proposal includes banning social media accounts for those under 13 and limiting accounts for ages 13 to 15 to supervised mini-accounts with restricted features. For teens aged 15 to 18, platforms will be required to implement secure designs.
