One of the injured sailors from the GAS LISBON tanker fire in the Black Sea has died in Tulcea Hospital. Three crew members were hospitalized due to burns and injuries. The incident occurred after drone strikes near Sfântu Gheorghe, with the vessel carrying over 3,790 tons of propane. President Nicușor Dan linked the event to the ongoing war initiated by Russia, stating that state institutions are on alert. The Romanian Naval Authority confirmed the incident's location, and the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center was alerted. The Department for Emergency Situations explained why multi-role vessels were not deployed for firefighting, citing operational issues and safety concerns due to the cargo.
