Unul dintre mai vechi copaci din lume e în SUA și are o vârstă de peste 2.600 de ani. Cum a scăpat de la tăiere

In North Carolina's Trei Surori swamp, a cypress tree named BLK227 is over 2,600 years old, making it one of the oldest trees in the world. Its age was determined through wood samples and growth ring analysis, revealing it began growing around 605 BC. Unlike other trees in the swamp, BLK227 has a straight trunk and survived logging due to its hollow interior, which diminished its value for timber. Nearby, another tree dates back to around 70 BC. Cypress wood is known for its resistance to decay, leading to extensive logging in the 19th century, but BLK227 remained untouched due to its age-related characteristics.
