The overall unemployment rate was 6.4% in August 2026, consistent with the previous month. Female unemployment slightly exceeded male unemployment by 0.2 percentage points. The total number of unemployed individuals aged 15-74 was estimated at 523,400 in August, showing a decrease from July but an increase compared to the previous year. Among adults aged 25-74, the unemployment rate was 5.2%.
