UNTRR: Taxa de drum poate scumpi transportul cu până la 25%

The introduction of a road tax may increase transport costs by 10%-25% in Romania, as transporters are already facing rising fuel prices. Daniel Niculescu from UNTRR highlighted that diesel prices have surged over 40% this year, impacting transport costs by 12%-16%. Transporters struggle to pass these costs onto clients due to competitive pressures, absorbing a 3-7% difference. The new road tax adds further financial strain, with uncertainty about how much can be transferred to clients. Additionally, issues with the TollRo system complicate operations, risking fines for transporters. Niculescu emphasized the need for fair treatment regarding penalties for system failures.
